A VALENTINE ALTERNATIVE (THAT IS ACTUALLY GOOD FOR YOU!)

Most of us try to not eat too many sweets, but what happens if you are really craving something and need it asap? This recipe solves that problem and it won’t be something that you feel too badly about since we are all told that dark chocolate, in moderation, is good for us along with nuts and fruits for the various nutrients that they contain. If you’re like me you always have a variation of these ingredients on hand and you can be eating this in less than 35 minutes!

Here are the ingredients:

11 ½ oz. bag of bittersweet chocolate chips 2/3 cup of mixed toasted nuts 2/3 cup of dried fruit like cranberries, apricots, cherries, and coconut

Line a baking sheet with foil. Microwave the chocolate chips and pour them onto the baking sheet and spread it to a thickness of about ¼”. Scatter the nuts and dried fruit over the chocolate. Chill until the chocolate is firm - about 30 minutes. Peel off the foil. Break into irregular pieces. Serve bark slightly chilled.

This would also be a quick hostess gift if placed in a pretty container or a teacher's gift as well.

ENJOY!
