We all do it - I'm too old to learn Spanish. I'll never be a good cook. Math - I just wasn't good at it in school, so why should I try now. Yes, it's so easy to slip into this way of thinking. However, the other day on the news, I saw something truly inspiring.
We all hear stories of someone who pushes themselves to start exercising at 60 and it makes us think - I guess I should try too, but then don't. Or someone at an even later age who starts to volunteer and they wonder why they didn't start sooner because it's so fulfilling and makes their life worth living. They even feel younger. But the below story, if you haven't hear it, will blow you away.
It's about a 93 year old man named Ray who got tired of sitting around and he put his life savings into starting a bakery. You heard me right - 93, and that means doing a physically challenging job like running a bakery! His daughter along with others thought he was nuts, in fact, he thought he might be nuts too, but he felt compelled to do it. His products look great and I love the fact that some of his cupcakes even contain alcohol.
Check out the below link. If this doesn't inspire you to stop thinking that you can't do something because you're already too old, nothing will. He is my hero!
