HATE THE SOUND OF SQUEAKY FLOORS? WE'VE GOT A QUICK TIP

Bob Vila says that you can silence a noisy wood floor with a little bit of cornstarch. That’s right that box of plain 'ole cornstarch in the back of your pantry that you have probably rarely used is the solution.

Just sprinkle it over an area that creaks, and then use a broom to sweep it into the cracks between the boards. The cornstarch will act as a dry lubricant between the wood surfaces to quiet the creaking.

I have tried this and although it may not work in every situation, it helped in our house in several areas. Even if it's not perfect you will absolutely notice an improvement and less noise is always a good thing!

Thanks Bob!
