I have been meaning to share this feel good moment from the Willie Geist Sunday Today Show. If you haven't already seen the story about Albert Lexie, he worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for 31 years shining shoes. He left his home before dawn and it took him 3 buses to get to the hospital.

Over the course of 30 years Albert saved his tips and donated them to the Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund. This fund was for those kids who were either uninsured or under-insured, and lived within 250 miles of Pittsburgh.

These tips ended up totaling $202,000. You heard that right, it was $202,000!

Albert said: All I ever wanted was to see the kids get well.

Mr. Lexie died recently at the age 76, and what a hero he was.

This man's story will stay with me for a long time. It makes you wonder how many people each of us has helped in our lives so far and what we can do to increase our impact on the lives of others. At L + L HOME we give 2.5% of all our transactions back to the community. If you want to see more about this incredible man, please see the below link.
