I don’t know where I read this quote so I can’t give them credit, and I’m not even sure if I remember it accurately, but it went something like this:
If someone offered to pay you a $1,000,000 to accomplish something, would you be able to do it?
I think the majority of us would say yes.
The reason why I like this quote so much is that often I, and I’m sure there are a lot of others of you out there too, who don’t try to do something because it might be too hard – for instance skiing, chess, learning a foreign language, driving stick, and the list goes on. However, if offered the money we would definitely learn how to do pretty much everything.
So why can't we learn these things without being paid? I am now trying to live by the fact that most everything can be learned. Sure at this point I’m not going to learn how to be a Doctor (damn) or practice law, but smaller things can be accomplished by just putting forth more effort.
Do you think that you might try harder too, or do you already live this way? We’d like to know.
